When I read the tons of excellent reviews about Dar Charkia, I felt more and more excited to finally get there. As soon as I booked, I received an E-Mail with loads of great recommendations regarding Restaurants, Hammams, Day-Trips and so on for the time in Marrakech. Finally arrving there after some hours of flight and travelling felt like heaven! The door opened and entering the patio with the orange tree and the pool, lit with candles and beautiful lightning was like stepping into another world. German speaking Michael took some time to prepare a delicious mint tea and explained where to go, eat and what to pay attention to. The room Saada was just perfect. Opening the doors you’ll find yourself right in front of the pool, facing he amazing patio. Breakfast has been great as well. Fresh orange juice, tea or coffee as preferred, bread, croissants and marmelade as well as hearty things like eggs etc. They payed attention to the fact that I’m vegetarian and offered alternatives like tomatoes, avocado and cheese. Furthermore, everybody I met there has been so welcoming and warm that it has been a pleasure to come home after a busy day in the Medina.
The whole experience has been nothing but perfect and I’d love to come back sometime.
Nice review ! I don’t trust in any way the ones in Trip Advisor. Every time I can I use Yelp instead (but unfortunately only available in a few cities, and rather new in Europe). Seems to be a nice riad, I love it too !
I know what you are talking about. In general, I feel like I can trust tripadvisor but sometimes I just couldn’t understand how people could write such good reviews for crappy places. And often of course its very touristy.. Anyway, I felt so, so welcomed at Dar Charkia. Everything has just been perfect. If you get the chance to, I’d really recommend you to at least visit this beautiful place.
